Saturday, a cold day, and snow is on the way! Yikes.

Gotta get to Tractor Supply to buy Chrissy some boots this afternoon, as soon as I drop off my bread at the farm.

Bread? Oh yes. Today I baked the following:

Savory Scones (w/ham, sharp cheddar and green onions)

Whole-Rye Sourdough

Multi-Grain Whole Wheat (w/oats and rye chops)

I might do three breads tomorrow as I did last Sunday. We shall see...

Enjoy!

TGIF!

A cold night last night. Good thing I remembered to bring in my rosemary plants for the duration. Now if I can just remember to water them, I'll be set for rosemary forever!

The last of the bread is in the oven. Today's list is:

Apple-Cinnamon Crunch Mini-Loaves

Baguettes with sesame seeds (I decided to put seeds of all the baguettes.)

and an experiment!

Semolina Sourdough w/flaxseeds, a hint of anise seed in the dough, coated with poppy seeds!

We shall see...

Please leave comments, as well as any requests - especially for Thanksgiving special orders!

Enjoy!

BIG bread day this morning.

I decided to forgo the sweet treats in lieu of three breads I've been thinking of.

First, a sourdough rye with flaxseeds. Next, a whole wheat pan loaf with both dried cherries and cranberries - plus roasted whole soybeans. And finally, a sourdough garlic bread with lots of roasted garlic cloves mixed right into the dough - great for toasting or dipping in olive oil (it has olive oil in it as well).

See you at the farm!

Enjoy!

Winter's in the air, and I'm baking up a storm!

Today I delivered (to the farm) ten baguettes, six loaves of French Country Bread, and a dozen Orange-cranberry Scones.

The FCB was a big seller when I worked in Gifford's in Kent. Light and airy crumb, just short of ciabatta. Kids love it for sandwiches. Good shelf-life, too. Just wrap in clear film to keep fresh, and as always...if you prefer a tough crust, place in your oven @400' for five minutes to get that "just outa the oven" zing!

Tomorrow (Saturday) I'm baking a sourdough seed bread with a bunch of special ingredients I just had delivered this afternoon. (It'll be loaded, I promise, for you multi-grain lovers.)

Also, an experiment...a mini-banana loaf with dried orange chunks and pecans. Who knows? It could be great!

And my usual Saturday savory scone fix, with roasted sweet peppers, sharp provolone and fresh rosemary from my garden.

Sunday's menu will be posted tomorrow!

Enjoy!

Just waiting for the blackberry/peach muffins to come out and I'm off to the farm!

This morning I made nine loaves of whole rye/whole wheat sourdough with rye chops and caraway seeds. VERY tasty bread (there was a runt - for the baker).

Also made my lemon/zucchini bread with poppy seeds.

Yesterday, within an hour of my dropping off the Normandy apple sourdough, six out of the seven were SOLD. Yay!

As business picks up, I'll be adding many more bread recipes, as well as many other sweet treats. I have 60-70 bread recipes alone, so...

Enjoy!
